Contemporary Group Quilts travel to the USA
The Exe Valley Contemporary Quilt group are delighted that 2 of our Group quilts have been selected to travel to the USA for the World Quilt Competition this year!
Christine Porter is the British co-ordinator for this international competition and especially asked if these 2 quilts could be entered.
Quilters submit photos of their quilts for her initial jurying, then Christine sends her selection details and photos to Mancuso in America, who organise the competition and exhibitions -- then they decide the final entries and our 2 quilts are in the final 39 entries!
They are 'Fresh' -- our white and green, botanically inspired group quilt that we made in 2015 (for an image see here) -- and 'Kimono', last year's 2nd prize winner at the Festival of Quilts (see above). We wish them good luck as they travel to the States and hope the American quilters enjoy them!
They will be displayed firstly at the World Quilt Competition at Manchester, New Hampshire -- Aug. 18--20th.
Then in September, at the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza in Philadelphia; October --the Pacific International Quilt Festival in San Francisco; --- then World Quilt Florida, Orlando in Jan. '18.
